He hails from New York; I’m a native Nashvillian. After a few years hopping around the East Coast (college, DC, Boston), we’ve settled in Nashvegas and are putting down roots. He’s the Bourbon Aficionado (BA), and Boots is me. Don’t ask why--he can’t tell you. Explanations usually go like this: “well, she has a lot of boots. And I called her that, and she hated it, so it stuck.”

a.k.a. Baddie Maddie. Rhodesian Ridgeback-black Lab mix. An impulse acquisition from a beach in Seagrove, Florida in 2007. Best described as a bull in a china shop. Not calming down even at 4 years old, but we admire her spirit as it has brought her through more than one near-death experience. Likes: counter surfing, reminding humans of dinner time. Dislikes: “rules and expectations,” flea medicine, orderly yards.

a.k.a Sweeeet Abiiiita. German Shepherd mix of unknown origins. Lived the first part of her life “on the lam” until picked up by Animal Control and brought to her forever home in April of 2011. Likes: Purple Baby, the dishwasher, belly rubs.
