Hey, you. You're like a real baby now. It seems like every day another person comments on how a little personality suddenly made an appearance in the last few weeks. You've worked and worked and worked on some new skills and now suddenly you've got them down (and then you do them over and over and over again).
No real news on the eating front. You are still gaining weight and doing well. For a couple reasons, we have not yet introduced solid foods but that is on the near horizon. You eat a little less regularly now--some days it's pretty frequent (I think there was a growth spurt somewhere in the past month), and sometimes less.
We've settled on a pretty consistent bedtime groove now. We like to start the routine at 8:30, meaning you're in bed by 9 but that can stretch to 9:30 if we've had a particularly wild night. The drill is the same: book with daddy, bath, lotion, jammies, nurse, and bed. You'll sleep from 9 to about 5, eat, and then go back down until 7 something. The stretch of sleep after that is more like a short nap now. Generally speaking, we are still sticking to the routine of a nap after 1.5 hours of wake time, but you seem better able to tolerate variation to that now. But for the most part, I'd still characterize the day time as about 1.5+ hours up, 45 minutes down. Lots of napping. But everyone remarks on how happy and good you are, and I think getting enough sleep is a big part of that.
You are starting to get busy--you want to touch and grab and eat and explore everything around you. We are looking forward to our first big trip starting this Saturday. You'll do airplanes and a different house and the Pack & Play and the beach and all sorts of new things. I am expecting a few bumps in the road as we switch everything up on you, but we'll take it as it comes.
