Last weekend, Mr. C had his first visit to the Great North. We had a fun time with grandparents, friends, dirt, pizza, pools, and lots of animals.
The better to seeeeee you (gamble away my entire future) with...
On Friday, we went up to Saratoga for the races. The child ate an entire pulled pork sandwich and the adults lost a lot of money (on horses and then on beers). I was so close to winning $422 on my daily double after Royal Posse, my first horse, won, but you know what they say...close only counts in not-gambling.
Perhaps a better strategy than "I like your name" is in order.
The horse that shattered my dreams: JustALittleLoopy.
Indeed.
Nonetheless, fun times and a special history.
On Saturday, we took a walk down the road to visit a farm. A real live cow-raisin', pumpkin-growin', poop-smellin' farm. Not like most of the farm toys we have around the house, but he made the connection. We met a cow named Red (she was red) and learned that cows have extremely long tongues. We saw a dog, lots of cats, roosters, and a deer.
A deer named Chloe.
C thought this game was hilarious. Chloe either thought it was great fun or is a little touched in the head. Tough to say.
But it was so fun to see him see it all!
Taggies & Nana--I'm all set!
Drivin my 1953 Ford Jubilee
Big times for a little guy. For the most part, he did well on the flights and with new surroundings, and it was a lovely visit.
