Baby's First Easter

Happy Easter, friends!

On Saturday we walked over to a neighbor's house for an egg hunt and crawfish boil. Obviously C is too little to hunt eggs, but we watched/were overwhelmed by all the other littles running around.

Then on Sunday...

[I wish there were a way to edit out my voice but leave his]

First we woke up and had a happy time in the bed (with coffee). Then we went downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought...

After we put on our Easter best (thanks Colleen! Promise it didn't get pooped on later...), we headed over to Doc and Jules's house to continue the festivities. We had baskets there and lots of family and friends.

It was very special to get this picture of all 4 generations--baby C, me, my mom, and her mom--on the side of the family for which he's named.

Hippity Hoppity

Easter's on its way...

Erin Go Bragh

While I'm pretty sure every bro in America claims Irish heritage, I think our claim is legit on both sides. Thus, we had to celebrate C's first St. Patrick's Day properly (let's leave aside the fact that actual Irish people most likely do not celebrate it like we do, but Americans sure have a knack for appropriating other cultures' celebrations and turning them into drinking holidays. And I'm all for that. Because AMERICA).

Also, our Upstate family was in town for the weekend, so we had to do it up right.

Had lots of cute outfits lined up. Pics were a general fail.

So here's this one again just for good measure:

Meeting Nana (he was not very social at the introductory dinner on Friday night)

Uncle Trev

On Sunday night, we had a big (very big) family (lots of family) dinner with a great braised beef recipe that BA found and other fun festive wares. I made this Guinness beer cheese--I think I've had it pinned for over a year but can now vouch for it--it's a keeper.

Prep work.

A good time was had by all, but little man was all tuckered out.

Too much green beer.

Overly Ambitious

Our lovely meal delivery train has, sadly, come to an end, leaving us to wonder how we will eat real food going forward.

So I managed to have enough time to make a little quiche today, using my go-to recipe. I had enough time while the baby napped to use BOTH HANDS! to chop and assemble and get it in the oven.

Getting it out of the oven, however, was asking a little much.
